Plan Your Estate
or the State Will Plan It For You
There are many things to consider in planning your
estate to avoid unnecessary complications, delay and
expense.
Although not all of us take action to prepare
one, most of us know we should have a Will to make certain
that our assets (and liabilities) at the time of our
passing are distributed according to our wishes. Likewise,
at the time of our passing, IRS and state and
federal regulations must be followed to ensure that
the terms of our Will and other documents are followed.
As we age, there may be a time when nursing home care
is required. The state has specific maximum
limits on financial resources (savings etc.) an individual
is allowed to have before Medicare or other agencies
will pay for or subsidize nursing home care. Government
agencies impose many requirements on us as we avail ourselves
of Medicare and other health care programs. How,
then, can we best prepare for this time of our
life?
At Elder Law Solutions, we will thoroughly review your
financial situation and advise you on how to structure
your Will and financial and property resources to gain
the maximum legal benefits that you are entitled to under
state and federal laws.
