Attorney Margot G. Birke

Margot founded Elder Law Solutions to focus on the intricate legal and financial needs of older and disabled adults. She has extensive experience in Elder Law as an advocate, mediator, and volunteer. She speaks frequently to empower the elder community by providing the information they need to make informed choices.

Margot is currently President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (MassNAELA). She is also Past Chairman of their Program Committee. She has also served as Chairman of the Advisory Council of Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and as a former state-certified Nursing Home Ombudsman. She is also a member of the Massachusetts and New York Bar Associations, Academy of Special Needs Planning, and the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association.

Margot was named the 2012 Member of the Year by the Massachusetts Chapter and received the 2014 President’s Award for her dedication and commitment to The Chapter. She was selected for the honor among the chapter’s 500-plus members at the annual meeting for her advocacy and commitment to raising awareness of legal issues affecting seniors. Margot is also a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.

Margot received her B.A. from Fordham College in New York, and her J.D., with academic honors, from Fordham University Law School. She is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and New York.

Attorney Candice M. O’Neil

CMO - headshotCandice has been practicing law since 2006 after completing her degree at the Northeastern University School of Law.  Her first year of law school was spent at Penn State University, where she was named an Associate Editor of the Penn State Law Review.  Since graduating, Candice has assisted clients in the greater Boston area as well as New Hampshire with their estate planning and small business needs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and visiting local beaches.  Candice also volunteers her time as a Board member of the Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club, serving as Managing Editor of the Club’s Newsletter.

Kelte

Kelte is a graduate of Salve Regina University and has been with Elder Law Solutions for the past 10 years. Kelte wears many hats as our administrative and legal assistant, as well as our marketing guru. She also lends her time outside of the office to helping and spending time with seniors in the community. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, shopping and creating!

Ted

A native of Brooklyn, New York and a graduate of the Air Force Academy, Ted served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. After serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, and as a member of the Strategic Air Command, Ted joined Eastern Air Lines. After Eastern folded he flew for United Airlines and retired as Captain. As a Veteran, Ted brings a needed perspective to the completion of our applications for Veterans Benefits for our clients.

Carole

Carole M. Kurtzke is a native to the North Shore, born in Marblehead and currently resides in Beverly, Massachusetts. Carole has been a paralegal  since 1987 and specializes in Elder Law since 1994. She actively volunteers her time at her local senior center and is a member of The Community Action Committee in Beverly that includes monthly meetings with her local community leaders.  Carole also works part time as a caregiver to an elder suffering from mid-stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Carole can often be found walking her dog and biking on the train rail walkways throughout the North Shore and combing the beaches for interesting beach rocks.
